Secondary students have to face many issues during their progression through middle school and high school. Students encounter such issues as bullying, sexual tensions, harassment, low self-esteem, depression, and exceptionality. Teachers, administrators, and parents must be cognizant of student behavior on a day to day basis. Creating an active dialogue can support the student when needed.
Having empathy or being empathetic helps boys and girls deal with gossip, because it alerts their consciences. If I am aware of how lying or criticizing my classmate would make me feel, then I would be less likely to entertain or indulge in gossip.
ReplyDeleteI agree with A. Jones a hundred percent. I believe most kids will not bully or mistreat others if they actually knew what it felt like to be made front of, lied on or talked about. Many kids are blessed to receive an education, have a home to live in, food to eat and clothes on their body and many are not. MTV had a great series once upon a time, don’t know if it still airs but it was about rich kids who always took things for granted and never understood what it felt like not to have. So the parents of each rich kid put them in exile to see how long they would make it. Also to allow them to understand how blessed they are because so many people are without. The moral of the story, these kids were taken out of their element and was shown how to appreciate ones who did not have.

ReplyDelete--you never know how someone feels when their being talked about. Having empathy helps teenagers deal with alot of things, mostly gossiping. Most teenagers never really understand how others feel when their being bullied, or talked about. That's why some teenagers are like they are now.
kwanzaa if one person have enough sense and courage to have empathy then their friends will learn to show that characteristic

ReplyDeleteEmpathy can help by you know where they're coming from because they may stop gossiping because you talk to them and tell them your point of view and let them know that it can get them hurt or worst.
